Job Title: Firmware Engineer – Controls & Power Location: Adibatla, Hyderabad Employment Type: Full-time Experience: 2 to 3 yearsJob Description:We are seeking a passionate and talented engineer to join the Electronics & Propulsion team to work on firmware development for various embedded sub-systems such as Motor Controller and BMS. As an engineer in firmware team, you will be responsible for Model Based firmware development of various sub-systems of our Hybrid VTOL Aircraft.About BluJ: BluJ Aero is formed with the vision of making Aviation 'Simpler & Sustainable'. We are looking for passionate and ambitious people to form our core foundation team.Key Responsibilities:This position requires one to be skilled in firmware development process starting from requirements gathering, architecture development, unit and system level testing This position requires the candidate to have good understanding of FoC based motor control, MATLAB Simulink and familiarity with C2000 family of microcontrollers Develop firmware architectures which meet aerospace standards of reliability and scalability Comfortable with documentation of requirements and test cases Work along with simulation / model-based development tools to generate code rapidly. Familiar in sizing and choosing microprocessor based on requirements Comfortable with building low level drivers for PWM, I2C, SPI, SMBUS, CAN, ARINC, UART, Ethernet etc Develop and maintain firmware codebase using industry-standard version control systems (e.g., Git), ensuring code quality, readability, and reusability. Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and validation of firmware components to ensure functional correctness, reliability, and compliance with system requirements. Design and implement power management strategies, including sleep modes, power gating, to optimize energy efficiency. Work and take help of other engineers across various functions to ensure on-time delivery of goals.Qualifications:Masters/ bachelor’s degree in engineering Working experience with Git/Jira and scripting languages like Python Familiarity with ML technologies and their application in decision making embedded devices. Well versed with Object-oriented Analysis & Design, Design Patterns, Data Structures and Algorithms Hands-on experience with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers and familiarity with ARM architecture, instruction set, and development tools (e.g., ARM Keil, GCC). Experience working on ICs like AFEs used in BMS voltage monitoring, Gate drivers and Active balance circuits At least 2 years of experience in engineering design teams focussed on energy systems or power electronics. Prior experience with VTOL or hybrid aircraft is highly advantageous. Experience in sensor selection, interfacing, and data acquisition, with knowledge of common sensor types (e.g., accelerometers, gyroscopes, temperature sensors). Experience working on closed loop controller development in power electronic systems. Experience working on state-machine based architecture development Proficiency in debugging tools and techniques for embedded systems, such as JTAG debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and protocol analysers. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex system issues and provide effective solutions in a timely manner. Demonstrated history/experience working with Model Based system development tools like MATLAB Embedded coder Demonstrated history of working in a team and effectively collaborating and utilizing team resources.What We Offer:Collaborative and Innovative Work Environment.
