Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to lead technical development for Nordetect's core platform while establishing our India development operations. This role will focus on owning end-to-end feature development, ensuring platform reliability, and mentoring a junior developer. You'll work directly with the CEO and CTO on technical strategy and customer-facing implementations while supporting our US operations.

The ideal candidate is a backend-focused full-stack engineer with strong mentoring capabilities and experience working with international teams. Initially, this role will involve directly contributing to key technical initiatives, with the expectation of gradually taking ownership of critical platform components including our device backend systems. The role requires a balance of hands-on development, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own full-stack development across our existing platform while leading migration to modern architecture
  • Ensure platform reliability with zero-downtime deployments and resolve customer technical issues within 48 hours
  • Lead monthly feature releases and maintain high code quality standards across Python, Django, and evolving frontend technologies
  • Mentor and manage one student intern developer, providing technical guidance and project oversight
  • Gradually assume ownership of C++ device backend systems through a structured handover process (1-3 month timeline)
  • Work closely with CEO on technical architecture decisions and customer implementation requirements

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of full-stack development experience with demonstrated backend expertise in Python/Django environments
  • Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks, with experience strongly preferred over knowledge
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools, including Cursor, Claude Code, and Lovable.
  • Comfortable working with C++ systems and willing to take ownership of device backend components
  • Proven experience mentoring junior developers and managing small technical teams
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with track record of working independently in fast-paced startup environments
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Experience with deployment pipelines, monitoring systems, and maintaining production applications
  • Familiarity with data science workflows in Python is a plus given our analytics platform requirements
