Geotechnical Engineer

Educational Qualification

Masters in Geotechnical Engineering or Equivalent, Professional / Chartered Engineer will be preferred.

7-10 years of professional experience into design of foundations for maritime structures, offshore structures and bridges

- Design of deep foundations such as bored piles, driven piles, caissons, well foundations etc.- Design of retaining walls such as diaphragm walls, sheet pile walls, anchored combi pile walls etc.- Slope stability analysis for high embankments in tidal waters and in rivers- Foundation for pavements and settlement calculations- Design of soil strengthening / ground improvement schemes- Inspections of foundation construction works- Exposure to IS, IRC, Euro and API standards- Experience of working on projects located in Africa and Europe will be preferred- Proficiency in software like L pile, Geoslope, PLAXIS etc.- Experience of working in consulting organization will be preferred- Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Responsibilities

- Delivering engineering consultancy projects in ports, maritime and infrastructure sector- Preparing scope and specifications for geotechnical investigation- Preparation of Geotechnical Assessment Report based on investigation reports- Preparation of geotechnical design basis- Preparation of design calculations for various types of shallow and deep foundations- Co-ordination with structural design team- Co-ordination with soil investigation and ground improvement contractors- Value engineering with optimization of geotechnical designs- Obtain approval of geotechnical designs from authorities and third party agencies- Lead the geotechnical design tasks independently with least supervision- Preparing designs and reviewing designs prepared by the team- Leading design teams for conceptual design and detail design projects.- Co-ordination with client and vendors for project execution- Ensuring quality control on the design submissions- Attend meetings with clients and authorities
