Roles & Responsibilities
Data Analysis and Visualization :
- Developers design and build BI solutions.
- Utilize tools and techniques to analyze data.
- transform raw data into meaningful insights using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Quick sights (preferred).
- Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present findings.
Architect and Design Database:
- Collaborate with developers and data architects to design and implement database schemas, tables, indexes, and views.
- Optimize database design for efficient data storage, retrieval, and manipulation.
- Develop and maintain database documentation, including data dictionaries, entity-relationship diagrams, and data flow diagrams
Perform data base migrations:
- Define data migration strategies and solution designs using ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) methodology.
- Ensure data consistency, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with clients, application developers and other stakeholders during migrations.
Database Administration and Management:
- Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL database systems to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance.
- Monitor database performance and conduct regular performance tuning and optimization activities to enhance efficiency and responsiveness.
- Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related tools.
- Perform database archives, backups, disaster recovery planning, and data replication to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including connectivity problems, performance bottlenecks, and data corruption.
- Implement database monitoring solutions to proactively identify and address performance issues and resource constraints.
- Automate routine database administration tasks, such as backups, maintenance, and monitoring, using scripting languages and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Ansible).
Capacity Planning and Scalability:
- Assess current and future database capacity requirements and plan for scalability and growth.
- Recommend hardware and software upgrades and infrastructure changes to support increasing data volumes and user loads.
Experience
- 9 to12yrs. of experience as Report writer/BI Developer
Critical Success Factors
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on both SQL and no SQL databases (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Redis).
- Experience with database administration, modelling, and visualization tools.
- Proficiency in scripting languages for automation and task scheduling.
- Strong proficiency in SQL query language and database performance tuning.
- Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance standards.
Academic Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
