Manual QA Tester Job Description Position Overview : We are seeking a detail-oriented Manual QA Tester with 1–2 years of experience to join our quality assurance team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through rigorous manual testing and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities : Perform manual testing on web, mobile, and desktop applications to identify and report defects.
Design, execute, and maintain detailed test cases, test scripts, and test plans based on product requirements and user stories.
Identify, document, and track bugs using tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar platforms.
Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Conduct regression, functional, integration, and system testing.
Ensure software meets functional and user experience requirements through thorough exploratory testing.
Provide detailed test reports and communicate findings to relevant teams.
Assist in defining QA processes and improving existing workflows.
Required Skills and Qualifications : Experience : 1–2 years in manual software testing, with a solid understanding of QA methodologies.
Technical Skills :
Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).
Basic understanding of SQL and ability to query databases for testing purposes.
Experience in testing APIs using tools like Postman is a plus.
Soft Skills :
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
Knowledge :
Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
Awareness of common software bugs and testing challenges.
Nice-to-Have Skills : Basic scripting knowledge in Python, Java, or any other programming language.
Exposure to automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, or Appium (though manual testing is the primary focus).
Experience in usability testing or accessibility testing.
