That's where you come in About this role The Cloud Ops Engineer will support the design, deployment, and governance of our cloud infrastructure. This role will help to support the strategic approach to building secure, scalable, and highly available cloud systems while ensuring that proper operations guardrails are in place. The role will be responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of cloud operations, from architecture to monitoring and cost management, and driving best practices across the organisation. Skills & Experience Must have: 5+ years of experience in Cloud Ops, Dev Ops, Infrastructure Engineering or SRE, with a significant focus on both AWS (preferred) and Azure cloud environments. Strong experience managing Windows Server environments, including troubleshooting, patching, and automation. Experience with capacity planning, scaling strategies, and availability management in distributed cloud systems. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) using tools such as AWS CDK (Type Script), Terraform, or automation scripts in Python or Power Shell. Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Octopus Deploy or Azure Dev Ops. Proven ability to architect and maintain secure, highly available cloud environments. Experience in managing cloud costs and optimizing usage through Fin Ops strategies. Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Power Shell). Nice-to-have: Certifications such as AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer, Azure Solutions Architect or similar. Exposure to performance tuning and diagnostics of Windows-based applications in cloud environments. Support the management of CI/CD pipelines using Octopus Deploy, ensuring they align with security, compliance, and operational requirements. Use cloud monitoring and observability strategies such as Datadog, AWS Cloud Watch, Azure Monitor, and other performance tools, while following operational guardrails for alerting, logging, and incident management. Supporting the implementation of security best practices, including access controls, IAM policies, encryption, and vulnerability management across all cloud technologies. Regularly audit and assess cloud environments to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001). Participate in and continuously improve incident response processes, including on-call rotations, blameless postmortems, root cause analysis and continuous improvement. Work to service level objectives (SLOs) and agreements (SLAs) and use observability tooling to drive improvements in uptime and reliability.
