Our mission is to foster meaningful digital connections, promote local content, and empower users through a positive, safe, and inclusive platform designed for Bharat.We are looking for a Senior Node.js Backend Developer & Team Lead to lead our backend engineering efforts, architect scalable systems, and guide a team of passionate developers in building India’s next-generation social network.ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and optimize backend services using Node.js and TypeScriptArchitect reliable and high-performance APIsLead technical discussions and make architectural decisionsWork with PostgreSQL to design efficient schemas and queriesReview code, guide best practices, and mentor junior developersBreak product requirements into actionable engineering tasks and drive them to completionWork closely with product, design, and QA to ensure smooth deliveryRequired Skills & Experience5+ years of professional experience in backend developmentStrong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScriptSolid understanding of SQL databases hands-on with PostgreSQL preferredGood understanding of WebSocket and basics of WebRTCHands-on experience with Redis (caching, queues, job processing)Experience designing scalable backend architecturesProven ability to lead small teams, make technical decisions, and uphold best practicesStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyComfortable taking ownership and setting technical direction when neededNice to HaveFamiliarity with Docker, CI/CD, and general DevOps environmentsExperience with event-driven architecture or microservicesExperience in startup or product-based environmentsUnderstanding of performance optimization and monitoring toolsWhat you will work onCore backend features that support our productNew feature development and product improvementsTechnical decisions that guide how the product evolvesEnhancements for scalability, reliability, and performanceProviding light technical leadership and support to the teamCollaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth deliveryWhy Join UsWork in a professional, collaborative startup environmentHigh ownership and autonomy in technical decision-makingOpportunity to grow into a long-term tech leadership roleWork directly on product-critical systems that direct impact on the users
