Role Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Administrator to manage and maintain our IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and user systems. This role involves ensuring system performance, security, and reliability, while providing technical support to end-users and optimizing processes through automation. As this position may involve US client-facing tasks, excellent spoken and written English is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- System Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and computer systems (hardware and software).
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor and optimize system performance to ensure uptime, reliability, and compliance with business requirements.
- IT Security: Assess risks and implement cybersecurity measures to safeguard systems and data from unauthorized access and threats.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, minimizing downtime and disruptions.
- User & Hardware Management: Create/manage user accounts, access rights, and oversee the hardware lifecycle (procurement to retirement).
- Automation: Develop scripts and tools to automate routine administrative tasks, improving efficiency and consistency.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (required)
- Master's degree in IT/Systems/Network Administration (preferred, good to have)
Experience:
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar IT support/infra role
- US project or client-facing experience (good to have)
Language Requirement:
- Excellent spoken and written English is mandatory (for client communication and documentation)
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, macOS)
- Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls)
- Hands-on experience with virtualization and cloud platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with monitoring and automation tools (e.g., Nagios, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash)
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and compliance standards
Certifications (Preferred, not mandatory):
- Microsoft Certified: System Administrator / Azure Administrator Associate
- CompTIA Security+ or Network+
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
- AWS Certified SysOps Administrator
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Clear communication skills for non-technical users
- Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities
- Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams
