Role Overview:
As the Director, Video Content (YouTube and Long-Form), you will play a pivotal role in shaping our video strategy and overseeing the production of compelling long-form content. You will lead a team of video producers, editors, and content creators to create engaging, informative, and entertaining videos that resonate with our audience and drive viewer engagement and subscriber growth on YouTube.
Responsibilities:
Video Strategy and Planning:
Develop and execute a comprehensive video content strategy for YouTube and other long-form content like podcasts, exclusive interviews, etc. aligned with company goals and audience preferences.
Define content themes, series, and formats that appeal to sports enthusiasts and drive subscriber growth and engagement.
Content Creation and Production:
Lead the end-to-end video production process, from conceptualization and scripting to shooting, editing, and final delivery.
Collaborate closely with content creators, hosts, and guests to produce high-quality videos that showcase compelling sports stories, analysis, highlights, and behind-the-scenes content.
Ensure all videos are produced to a high standard, align with brand guidelines, and meet audience expectations for quality and authenticity.
Audience Engagement and Growth:
Develop strategies to increase subscriber base, viewership, and audience engagement on YouTube and other platforms.
Analyze viewer feedback, performance metrics, and audience demographics to optimize content strategy and enhance viewer retention and satisfaction.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
Mentor and lead a team of video producers, editors, and content creators, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, social media, and analytics, to integrate video content with broader marketing initiatives and campaigns.
Performance Analytics and Optimization:
Monitor and analyze video performance metrics, including views, watch time, engagement rate, and subscriber growth.
Use data-driven insights to refine content strategies, optimize video production workflows, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
Minimum 8 years of experience in video production, with a strong focus on YouTube and long-form content creation, ideally within the American sports media or entertainment industry.
Proven track record of successfully leading video teams and producing engaging, high-quality content that drives audience growth and engagement.
Deep understanding of YouTube algorithms, best practices for SEO, metadata optimization, and audience development strategies.
Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team setting.
