RESPONSIBILITIES
- In-Process Audits: Conduct in-process audits to ensure product assembly adheres to quality systems and standards.
- Supplier Quality Coordination: Collaborate with the supplier quality team to address and resolve supplier-related issues on the assembly line.
- Cross-Functional Team (CFT) Coordination: Work with the CFT team to address field and in-process complaints to drive improvements.
- Analysis & Action Plan: Analyze monthly defects, Process Scrap, Inhouse Downtime or Rework & Initiate Action plan by coordinating with cross functional team.
- Training: Train new operators on product specifications, assembly procedures, and applications.
- Product Testing & Improvement: Learn product testing methods and implement Kaizen principles to enhance testing processes, aiming to prevent field failures.
- Process Automation & Digitization: Enhance automation and digitize processes to ensure high-quality products and efficient workflows.
- Inspection Management: Oversee third-party inspections (TPI) and customer inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Product Traceability: Maintain detailed product traceability to support product warranty and service.
- MIS Reporting: Update Management Information System (MIS) reports and take corrective actions if targets are not met according to company processes.
- Quality Reporting: Maintain comprehensive quality reports and present findings and updates to the CFT members on a monthly basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering in electronics / electricals or mechanical
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, standards, and methodologies (, ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using quality management software and tools.
- Certification in Six Sigma or other quality management certifications is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent training and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
· Physical Demands:
- Standing and Walking: The role requires frequent standing and walking around the production floor to conduct audits, inspections, and training sessions.
- Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands and fingers to handle or feel products, tools, or controls, especially during product testing and inspection tasks.
- Lifting: The ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds may be required.
- Visual Acuity: Close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus are necessary for inspecting product assembly and detecting defects.
- Hearing: Ability to hear alarms, machinery sounds, and communication from team members in a noisy production environment.
· Environmental Demands:
- Manufacturing Environment: The position is based in a manufacturing setting with exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and occasional loud noise.
- Temperature Variations: Exposure to varying temperatures within the production area, which may include non-climate controlled spaces.
- Protective Equipment: Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Gloves, and Ear Protection may be required.
- Work Hours: Flexibility to work different shifts, including possible overtime and weekends, to meet production and audit schedules.
- Travel: Occasional travel to supplier sites, customer locations, or other company facilities may be required to address quality issues or conduct inspections.
TRAVEL REQUIRED
- The Senior Engineer - In-Process Quality may need to travel occasionally, approximately 10-20% of the time, to supplier sites, customer locations, or other company facilities. This travel is essential for addressing supplier-related quality issues, conducting audits, overseeing third-party inspections, and participating in cross-functional team meetings or training sessions. Travel requirements may vary based on project needs and the geographical distribution of suppliers and customers.
