Job Descriptions:
Mainframe storage, Migration activities, zOS, EMC Storage migration to DS8000 via TDMF
As Storage Administrator you are responsible to provide technical support with high degree of Customer satisfaction by meeting Service Level Agreements (SLA) and process compliance. You will perform business impact analysis and risk assessments to reduce the likelihood of significant service outage or disasters.
Role and Responsibilities
Monitoring storage health parameters
Troubleshooting of issues and analyzing event logs, and taking configuration backup.
Data Backing up and recovery
Installation and Management of Tape libraries
Installation and Configuration of Mainframe Storages Systems, DS8K and Tape libraries and SAN Switches, FCIP Routers.
Troubleshooting and Performance monitoring of Mainframe storages
Configure Hosts and Host Groups on Storages.
Connectivity of Storage with SAN Switches and Servers.
Creation of Arrays, Logical Volumes (LUN) and mapping to Hosts\\Host groups.
Implementation of flash copy.
Configuration and execution of replication services
Data migration, replication and monitoring
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
EMC Storage migration to DS8000 via TDMF or equivalent tools
Implementation, and maintenance of storage systems including SAN, NAS, and tape libraries, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Storage Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize storage infrastructure, including storage pools, volumes, and data migration processes, to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Performance Management: Monitor storage system performance metrics and analyze trends to identify optimization opportunities and ensure optimal performance for business-critical applications and workloads.
Data Protection and Disaster Recovery: Lead the design and implementation of data protection measures, including backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions, to ensure data integrity and availability in the event of system failures or disasters.
Storage Security: Develop and implement security measures to protect storage systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert in troubleshooting storage-related issues, providing guidance and leadership to resolve complex problems and minimize downtime.
Documentation and Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for storage systems and processes, including configuration guides, standard operating procedures, and incident reports.
Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, network engineers, and application developers, to support storage infrastructure requirements and initiatives. Provide training and mentorship to junior storage administrators as needed.
