Looker Developer

Project Overview: We are looking for a skilled BI Developer to support a large client in the Healthcare domain. The role will involve enhancing and maintaining reports using Looker/LookML, developing dimensional data models, and working with Snowflake as the primary data warehouse. Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and optimize Looker dashboards and visualizations for HCA compliance reporting. Build and extend LookML models to support business requirements and ensure data accuracy. Translate business and regulatory requirements into technical specifications and reporting logic. Perform source-to-target mapping and work closely with data architects to ensure proper model alignment. Query and validate data in Snowflake using SQL for use in Looker reports. Collaborate with data analysts, QA, and product owners to ensure reporting quality, accuracy, and usability. Ensure all reports meet audit, regulatory (e.G., HCA), and performance standards. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in BI/reporting development Strong proficiency in Looker and LookML modeling Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouses Solid SQL skills for querying, validation, and data transformation Experience with dimensional data modeling and best practices for scalable BI architecture Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and usability Nice to Have: Experience working on compliance or audit-related reports (e.G., healthcare, financial) Familiarity with Git for version control in Looker projects Experience with Agile tools like JIRA and Confluence Knowledge of healthcare domain or HCA reporting standards Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote team environment
