We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Risk Manag er- Asset Management (AM).
Principal responsibilities
Be responsible for oversight and timely and accurate delivery of risk metrics for one or more regions. Lead work streams to improve, automate, optimize or standardize processes to scale up and uplift the risk monitoring framework of the firm. Represent AM Risk at various committees or working groups in order to ensure that the team has sufficient data and opportunity to provide relevant oversight of various business activities. Assess the use and understanding of investment/liquidity/counterparty/sustainability/leverage risk tools within the firm and ensure they are adequate to meet the changing regulatory and fiduciary requirements. Understand key risk data used, review and identify the possible gaps in the data governance processes, perform the relevant analysis and reconciliation on the data in scope and carried out relevant remediation to the gaps identified. Partner and collaborate with onshore stakeholders on agreed deliverables, analytical projects and ongoing Risk governance and oversight. Provide oversight of various production processes with responsibility of defending the process and metrics before internal or external stakeholders. Review risk reports produced by other team members, guiding corrections in process or communication as required. Understand intent of the report being produced from a holistic point of view and ensure that the metrics being calculated and controls that exist meet the objectives; identify shortcomings if any and escalate as required. Perform adhoc analysis as requested by local risk teams, auditors or regulators. RequirementsWhat you will need to succeed in the role:
More than 10 years of relevant experience in Asset management Risk or similar roles. With the breadth of the Risk Team’s remit and the limited resources available, the role requires strong organization and influencing skills. The jobholder is expected to be well versed in writing documentation for desk rules, functional instruction manuals, and interpreting regulatory requirements from a risk perspective. The jobholder is expected to work with a level of autonomy in their technical area of expertise and provide clear judgment and direction in a variety of forums and formats. The role holder should be sufficiently qualified to understand quantitative techniques, underlying risk methodology and risk application. Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, business, statistics or economics with exposure to math and econometrics. Good depth of experience with investment principles and the functioning of asset management. Strong knowledge of Excel modelling as well as experience with risk management Models (, FIS APT, Bloomberg AIM).Experience with tools like Python/R, SQL and Tableau or similar platform to enable analytics and reporting.You’ll achieve more at HSBC
