To succeed in this role, you must have a B.Tech in Civil Engineering with practical experience in the delivery of ports and marine engineering solutions. An M.Tech degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a higher academic qualification would be advantageous, along with a track record of delivering marine structures design, and other allied structures. REC is a highly sophisticated center of engineering excellence. Working in partnership with all our established offices globally, the Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) is a center for excellence in design by offering optimized solutions to the rest of the organization.Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:Geotechnical design and calculations, including stability, settlement, supported excavation, piles, pre-loading, stabilization, geogrid, loading berm, lightening, replacement of soil, ground water, frost heave, mass balance, jet grouting and moreGeotechnical project work in German and international marine and infrastructure projects, including ports, tunnels, dykes, landfills, roads, tramways, railroads, pipelines, wind parks, industrial facilities and more3D/FE Modelling of geotechnical structuresInterpreting geotechnical investigation reports and using appropriate geotechnical / geological design parametersProgramming soil investigation programsReporting and preparing design drawings and project documentationCost analysis, GHG emissions and environmental impact estimations, and risk assessmentsProject meetings, and communicating with clients and other designersUtilize applicable national and international codes for geotechnical designMake sure that projects meet legal guidelinesActively participate in improving your skills, the team and the organizationThis would be the main kind of task + 3D/ FE workYour new teamYou will be part of REC was established as a dedicated institution for creating the excellence centre in Ramboll. REC focusses on providing global expertise using local resources from India. Facilitates cooperation between India, business units in Europe and the Middle East specifically for the Buildings, Transport and Water sectors.This big team is divided into groups of dedicated personnel working for structures in UK, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway who sometimes also work across these boundaries. They are virtual team mates working on common projects, prime business units in the above countries being the ones who coordinate with the clients and other consultants as well as with REC to pass on the design solutions to the user. The wide range in type of projects vary from high rise structures, to precast, to post tensioning etc., for some regions to industrial structures depending on the country you are working for. For this role, we believe your starting point is:Must possess 4+ years hands-on design experience, including in the geotechnical design of infrastructure, marine infrastructure, residential and/or industrial projectsExperience with European design codes (Eurocodes) / German Codes (DIN) will be an added advantageCandidates having experience in working with Multinational Companies / overseas will have an advantageProficiency in AutoCAD, Plaxis 2D/3D, GGU, GROUP or similar basic geotechnical software as well as Microsoft Office toolsKnowledge of 3D modelling software (e.g., Leapfrog, Civil 3D, Tekla Structures) and programming skills (e.g., Rhino/Grasshopper, Python/VBA) are of special interestKnowledge of other applicable software (e.g., FLAC 2D/3D, UDEC 2D/3D, Mathcad) would be an advantageHave good communication skills (spoken, written) in English and be able to collaborate on international projectsPrefferable to have German language skills (spoken, written, >

B2) and be able to read and write project documentationShould be a good team member and should coordinate with other team members and the project manager for a timely delivery of projects.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have a M. Tech degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
