Designation: Deputy Manager - Global Trade Governance
BU: Supply Chain (Global Transportation and Warehousing)
Scope: This position is responsible for Global trade compliance with respect to Imports/ Exports Customs/ Border clearance processes of all sites of shipment pertaining to Biocon Biologics including shipments from and to India, Malaysia, External Manufacturing sites and 3PL distribution warehouses
Budget Accountability: Maintain adherence to Customs / Border clearance rules, GST rules, Logistics spend budget.
Required:
- Education: Masters or Graduate/Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain operations or equivalent, MBA preferable
- Knowledge: Sound understanding of import/Export/Re-import/ Re-export processes and procedures in multiple geographies including India
- Skills: Handled internal audits of import/Export/Re-import/ Re-export processes and procedures followed by multinational pharma companies.
Analytical Thinking
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
Written and Oral Communication
- Ability to clearly communicate with stakeholders, Proficient in English (Oral/Written).
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in logistics operations/compliance preferably in pharmaceutical logistics
- Experience in Pharma-SCM, Customs Brokers, Global forwarders preferred.
Competencies:
- Knowledge of Export control classification number (ECCN) code, Country of origin analysis (COO), Denied party list screening (DPL Screening), Restricted party screening (RPS Screening)
- Analyze products based on Fit-form-function, custom rulings, General rules of interpretation (GRI), explanatory.
- Proficient in applying Bureau of Industry and Security’s CCL, along with EU and APAC country-specific trade regulations.
- Proficient in free trade agreements, and potential tariff implications,
- Proficient Indian Customs exemptions schemes such as Advance License, EPCG, SEZ, DSIR, IGCR, Related Party transactions and processes and procedures with reference to Special Valuation Branch (SVB).
- Proficient in rules governing Ant-dumping & Countervailing Duties
- Meets deadlines with limited supervision.
- Well-organized and high level of attention to detail.
