Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Electrical & Controls Engineer to join our engineering team. This individual will play a key role in designing and implementing electrical control systems for railway vehicles, with a focus on CAN (Controller Area Network) and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) based systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with specific expertise in PLC and CAN programming, as well as a solid understanding of creating and analysing electrical circuits.

Responsibilities:

- Design and develop electrical control systems for railway vehicles, emphasizing reliability, efficiency, and safety.- Program and configure PLCs and CAN systems to meet project specifications and operational requirements.- Create detailed electrical circuit diagrams and schematics for new and existing projects.- Conduct system simulations and analyses to validate and optimize designs.- Must be proficient in panel designs.- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and other team members to ensure integration and functionality of electrical systems with mechanical components.- Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts for electrical control systems issues.- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technical staff.- Stay abreast of the latest technologies and methodologies in electrical engineering and control systems design.- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.- Significant experience (typically 5+ years) in electrical engineering with a focus on control systems for railway vehicles or similar applications.- Proficiency in PLC and CAN programming, with a proven track record of successful projects.- Strong ability to design and analyse electrical circuits and systems.- Experience with electrical CAD software for creating schematics and diagrams.- Familiarity with railway industry standards and safety regulations.- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex projects.- Strong communication and leadership abilities, capable of leading projects and guiding teams.- Commitment to staying informed about new technologies and engineering practices.
