Job Summary:
The Statutory Compliance Manager will oversee and manage the companys compliance with all
statutory and regulatory requirements in India. This role requires a deep understanding of Indian labor
laws, tax regulations, and industry-specific compliance requirements. The ideal candidate will be
detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of implementing compliance strategies effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Regulatory Compliance:
• Monitor and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and changes affecting the business. Ensure
adherence to statutory requirements including labor laws, tax regulations, and industry-
specific compliance. Prepare and file necessary documentation for compliance with regulatory
authorities.
2. Documentation and Reporting:
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports related to compliance activities.
• Manage internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
3. Risk Management:
• Identify and assess compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Investigate compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
4. Liaison and Coordination:
• Coordinate with external agencies, auditors, and consultants as required.
• Liaise with government authorities and ensure timely submission of compliance reports and
documents.
5. Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated with changes in laws and regulations and recommend necessary changes to
internal policies.
• Implement best practices in compliance management and drive continuous improvement
initiatives.
6. Audits and Inspections:
- Prepare for and manage internal and external audits related to compliance.
• Implement corrective actions based on audit findings and recommendations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree
or relevant professional certification (e.g., CS, CA) is preferred.
• Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in statutory compliance or a related field, preferably in
(industry or sector).
• In-depth knowledge of Indian labour laws, tax regulations, and other statutory requirements.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and compliance management software.
Preferred Skills:
• Integrity and strong ethical standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex compliance issues.
