Senior Cyber Security Engineer

Job Description
Our team also focuses on increasing the capabilities of each application team to develop more secure products by design and by default, from patterns, tools and frameworks. As a Senior Analyst, you will help to ensure that our software and systems are designed and implemented to the highest security standards and protect our data at rest and in-transit. You will perform technical security assessments, implement data protection controls, helping Verisk teams and partners to improve security.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to the identification, assessment, and mitigation of security risks across the organization. This includes performing risk assessments, developing risk mitigation plans, and tracking the progress of risk management.
• Support the enterprise-wide information security by conducting regular security assessments, ensuring compliance with security standards, and providing recommendations for improvements.
• Assist in the execution of data protection strategies to safeguard sensitive information. This involves monitoring data access, implementing monitoring and encryption solutions.
• Participate in threat detection, analysis, and response efforts to protect the organization from cyber threats. This involves monitoring security alerts, conducting incident investigations, and coordinating with other teams to address security incidents.
• Work closely with other teams and stakeholders to ensure that security measures are integrated into all aspects of the organization's operations. Provide security guidance and support for various projects and initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field
• At least 3 years of information security experience
• Familiarity with cybersecurity industry frameworks such as NIST CSF and ISO27001
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders
• Excellent analytical skills to assess and mitigate security risks
• Must be able to multi-task and work independently, or with a team, on moderate to complex assignments using

independent professional discretion and judgment as well as transition quickly between projects
