Oracle-based Applications Migration Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Oracle-based Applications Migration Specialist to join our team. This role will be instrumental in the successful migration of our critical Oracle-based applications to a new environment. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Oracle technologies, migration methodologies, and best practices.
Responsibilities
Migration Planning and Strategy:
Collaborate with key stakeholders to define the overall migration strategy, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation plans.
Develop detailed migration plans, outlining the specific steps, dependencies, and checkpoints for each application.
Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the migration and develop contingency plans to address them.
Data Migration:
Analyse and assess the data migration requirements for each application, including data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
Design and implement robust data migration procedures to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security.
Develop data validation and quality assurance processes to verify the accuracy and completeness of migrated data.
Application Migration:
Migrate Oracle applications, including databases, middleware, and application servers, to the target environment.
Configure and customise the migrated applications to meet specific business requirements.
Perform thorough testing and validation of migrated applications to ensure functionality and performance.
Cut-Over and Go-Live:
Coordinate and execute the cutover process, including system shutdown, data migration, and system startup in the new environment.
Monitor system performance and address any issues that may arise during the go-live phase.
Provide post-migration support and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:
Create comprehensive documentation of the migration process, including procedures, scripts, and lessons learned.
Transfer knowledge and best practices to the operations team to ensure smooth ongoing operations.
Qualifications - Primary Skills:
Must have experience in migration of Oracle database from on-premises to cloud
Must be able to migrate Oracle DB to Azure Cloud based on given inputs/design
Must have experience with tools like RMAN, Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle ZDM, Oracle Disaster Recovery (Oracle Data Guard)
Must have worked on large size databases and knowledge of Linux servers
Must have experience in cloud migration and strategy planning. Understand the process of migration and decide the strategy of cloud migration
Must have knowledge of Oracle DB connectivity with Oracle applications and middleware like WebLogic, Jboss, Tomcat
Must have experience in configuration of HA & DR for Oracle DB
Must be willing to troubleshoot issues related to Oracle database migration to Azure
Knowledge in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
Knowledge on Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) installation and configuration
Knowledge in configuring Fast-Start Failover with Oracle Data Guard
