Job Title: Associate Consultant / Consultant – Cardiac Surgery
Department: Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery (CTVS)
Location: Fortis Hospital-Delhi,
Reports To: Head – CTVS / Medical Director
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiac Surgeon with 3–5 years of post-MCh experience to join our Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery team. The ideal candidate will assist and independently perform a wide range of adult cardiac surgical procedures. Experience or strong interest in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS) is a must , as we aim to expand our minimally invasive program.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist senior consultants and perform independently a variety of cardiac surgical procedures including CABG, valve surgeries, and aortic surgeries
Participate actively in the hospital’s Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS) program
Evaluate patients pre-operatively and post-operatively, including critical care follow-up
Ensure high-quality documentation and compliance with hospital protocols and clinical guidelines
Collaborate with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and the ICU team for comprehensive patient care
Attend outpatient clinics, inpatient rounds, and emergency consultations
Engage in academic activities, case discussions, CMEs, and training of junior staff
Participate in research and contribute to the advancement of minimally invasive techniques in cardiac surgery
Required Qualifications & Experience:
M.Ch. in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery (CTVS) from a recognized institution
3–5 years of post-MCh experience in a tertiary care hospital or cardiac center
Proven experience in or strong interest and training in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (MICS)
Exposure to a range of adult cardiac procedures; familiarity with MICS CABG or valve surgeries is preferred
