Job Title : Java Backend Lead Location : Bengaluru (Hybrid) Experience : 7-9 Years Employment Type: Full-time About the Job: We are seeking a seasoned and highly motivated Java Backend Lead to spearhead the development and implementation of robust, scalable, and high-performance backend solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Java 8 and its related technologies, particularly Spring Boot and Microservices architecture. This role demands a strong leader who can guide and mentor a team of developers, drive architectural decisions, and ensure adherence to best practices in software development. Job Summary : As a Java Backend Lead, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development lifecycle of our backend systems. You will play a crucial role in designing and implementing microservices-based solutions, optimizing performance, ensuring security, and fostering a collaborative environment. Your technical expertise and leadership skills will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software. Key Responsibilities : Architectural Leadership : - Design and architect scalable, high-performance, and secure backend applications using Java 8, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture. - Make informed architectural decisions, considering factors such as scalability, performance, reliability, and security. - Define and enforce architectural standards and best practices. Development and Implementation : - Lead the development of RESTful APIs, ensuring seamless integration with front-end applications and external systems. - Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to coding standards and best practices. - Implement and optimize database queries for both SQL and NoSQL databases. - Develop and maintain event-driven systems. Team Leadership and Mentorship : - Lead and mentor a team of Java backend developers, providing guidance and support. - Conduct code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to standards. - Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment. - Assist in recruitment and onboarding of new team members. DevOps and Deployment : - Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and testing. - Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth and efficient deployments. - Monitor application performance and troubleshoot production issues. Quality Assurance and Security : - Ensure code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and code reviews. - Implement security best practices to protect applications and data. - Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a proactive and efficient approach. Technology and Innovation : - Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends. - Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and practices. Documentation : - Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including API documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI). - Document architectural decisions, design patterns, and best practices. Required Skills & Experience : Core Java : - Strong proficiency in Java 8, with a deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and multithreading concepts. Spring Framework: - Extensive experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework (MVC, Security, AOP, Batch, etc.). Microservices : - Proven expertise in designing and implementing microservices architecture and event-driven systems. API Development : - Strong experience in designing, implementing, and documenting RESTful APIs (Swagger/OpenAPI). Databases : - Proficiency in SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis). - Database optimization experience. Cloud Platforms : - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP (EC2, Lambda, S3, Kubernetes). DevOps : - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Software Development Practices : - Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies. - Proficiency in version control systems (Git). (ref:hirist.tech)
