Sr Payroll Analyst

Exela Technologies, Pune


As a Senior Tax Analyst specializing in US Payroll, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll tax compliance and reporting for employees in the United States. Working closely with the payroll team, finance department, and external stakeholders, you will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll taxes while adhering to relevant laws and regulations.


Looking for candidates in US Payroll with good taxation experience open to working in 12pm-9pm shift. Should be aware of the US Tax laws.


Key Responsibilities:


Payroll Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements, including timely and accurate filing of payroll tax returns and payments.

Tax Research and Analysis : Stay informed about changes in payroll tax laws, regulations, and interpretations, and analyze their impact on payroll operations. Provide guidance and recommendations to ensure compliance.

Tax Planning and Strategy : Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize payroll tax processes, minimize tax liabilities, and maximize tax efficiencies.

Tax Reporting: Prepare and review payroll tax reports, including W-2s, W-3s, 941s, state unemployment, and other relevant tax forms. Ensure accuracy and compliance with reporting deadlines.

Tax Audits: Assist with internal and external payroll tax audits by providing documentation, responding to inquiries, and resolving issues to ensure compliance with audit requirements.


Skills Candidate should Posses


  • 5+ years of experience in payroll tax compliance, preferably in a US-based organization.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll tax software and systems, such as ADP, UltiPro, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with tax research tools and resources.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in tax calculations and reporting.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
