Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Grade 2 Clinical Pharmacists to join the Pharmacy Department in the newly built Mernda Community Hospital.  About Northern Health: Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg. About the Role: To hold responsibility for pharmacy service provision to Northern Health’s acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services. In particular at our newly opened Mernda Community Hospital. This position is responsible for: The Clinical Pharmacist has responsibility of the provision of clinical pharmacy services across Northern Health’s acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services. They will ensure excellence in patient care, evidence-based practice, and service improvement and risk management. The Clinical Pharmacist is primarily responsible for the pharmaceutical review of medications prescribed at Northern Health is in accordance with all relevant legislative, PBS, practice stand and accreditation requirements. The pharmacist will report to and work closely with their line manager title to monitor, evaluate and develop their service area. They will work collaboratively with the Pharmacy Department to achieve the strategic outcomes of the Department. The role will require staff to be flexible with their working hours to meet the changing operations demands and can include working after hours, on weekends and public holidays. Staff will be required to participate in the on-call roster. Staff will be required to travel and work across the various Northern Health campuses, programs, and partner organisations. Compliance with mandatory training as per NH Policy is a requirement of this role. Failure to complete this training within required timeframes may result in a suspension of duties until training is completed. To be successful in this role you will have: Experience and good working knowledge of Hospital Pharmacy practice Proven ability to work as a part of a team Demonstrated abilities to work independently and meet deadlines.
