Role: We’re seeking a Python Backend Engineer (Document Automation) to join our Documents Team. You’ll help build and maintain data ingestion and document classification systems that process financial documents from diverse web sources, supporting real-time data solutions for our products. Responsibilities: Develop and maintain scalable data collection pipelines to power EQL Global’s products Implement and enhance automated web data extraction solutions for real-time financial data Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical decisions with business goals Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines for smooth and timely data delivery Work closely with non-technical stakeholders to ensure technical solutions are understandable and aligned with business needs Required Technical Skills: 2+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer, focused on Python Proven ability to write clean, maintainable code Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Experience merging data from different sources Experience in automated web data extraction (Selenium, Beautiful Soup, Scrapy, etc.) Preferred Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with AWS services (Lambda, EC2, ECS, S3) Familiarity with ETL processes, large-scale data pipeline management, workflow tools (e.g., Apache Airflow), streaming or batch ingestion Experience with Docker for backend services and web data extraction scripts Experience working with proxy services Desired Qualities: Understanding of equity market mechanics Self-driven, proactive, and able to take full ownership of projects Strong problem-solving skills; able to work independently Clear and effective communicator, thriving in a collaborative environment Passionate about EQL Global’s mission and dedicated to delivering high-quality, valuable data What We Offer: Competitive salary Company stock option plan Top-notch equipment of your choice Wellness allowance Flexible work setup: work remotely or from our India-based offices (if available)
