Job Description : Technical Manager

Location : Pune, India

Experience Required : Minimum 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years of experience in a managerial or team leadership role, and a minimum of 4-5 years of hands-on experience in C/C++/Python Period : Immediate to 30 :

Delivery Managers work to ensure the team's success in engineering delivery, primarily by understanding the big picture of the technical requirement, breaking that down to individual levels and allocating the work items to the team members as per the best skillset fitment. One of the key work item for a delivery manager is to ensure time committed engineering delivery with the highest quality standards.

A Delivery Manager supports multiple cross-functional engineering teams and remains as the key point of communication with the product management that usually belongs the customer side, for a software services company.

Team Leadership :

  • Lead and manage a team of software developers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, encouraging innovation and professional growth among team members.
  • Set clear objectives and performance expectations, and regularly evaluate team members' performance.
Project Management :
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources effectively.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Technical Expertise :
  • Utilize expertise in C/C++/Python to provide technical guidance and support to the team.
  • Review code, architecture, and design to ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and incorporate them into the development process as appropriate.
Collaboration and Communication :
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product management, QA, and operations, to achieve project goals.
  • Communicate project status, challenges, and progress effectively to stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, facilitating understanding and alignment of goals and priorities.
Process Improvement :
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement initiatives to streamline development processes, enhance efficiency, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in software development, with a strong background in C/C++/Python development.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a managerial or team leadership role, preferably leading a team of 4-5 members.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering software projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies is a plus.

  • Good general understanding of how large scale software systems are designed, built, tested, deployed and into the hands of customers.

  • Strong understanding of delivery and go-to-market methods and metrics.
  • Good general understanding of the role of product managers, product designers, engineers, quality assurance, devops and product marketers
  • At least 8 years of experience working in the engineering organization of a software services company.
  • Required technical background : At least 4-5 years of development experience as a back-end engineer with C/C++/Python programming language.

  • Management and tracking of cross team dependencies.
  • Management and tracking of all high-integrity commitments.
  • Provides proactive visibility and effectively communicates delivery targets, commitments and progress.

  • Where appropriate, coaches the teams to improve collaboration and outcomes.
