Role & responsibilities

  • Evaluate and finalize technical specifications for hydro turbines, generators, control systems, and balance of plant (BoP).
  • Support feasibility studies and DPRs by providing E&M configurations, sizing, and system layouts based on site parameters. Providing input and review of Transient analysis
  • Guide the technical evaluation of OEM proposals and support EPC/bidder selection from a technology and lifecycle perspective.
  • Integrate E&M system design with civil layout, hydro-mechanical works, and power evacuation plans.
  • Define performance parameters and availability guarantees in line with PPA/contractual frameworks.

  • Provide inputs to grid interface planning, black start capability, and grid frequency response (especially for PSP).

  • Preparation/review of DPR, specifications for E&M packages, techno commercial evaluation of bidders offers, review of technical drawings, GAs, SLDs, and design submissions from OEMs and consultants, etc.

  • Interface with civil, geotechnical, and H&M teams to ensure design compatibility and optimization of powerhouse and cavern dimensions.
  • Provide oversight during FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), delivery inspections, and site erection planning.
