Job Overview

Capgemini is seeking a skilled Data Modeling/Teradata Specialist to join our innovative IT team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in data modeling, Teradata database management, and ETL processes. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust data models that support our business intelligence initiatives and data warehousing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business requirements.Implement and maintain data modeling standards and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all data models.Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective data models.Conduct performance tuning and optimization of existing Teradata databases to enhance system efficiency.Develop ETL processes for data integration from various sources into Teradata systems.Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring high availability and reliability of data systems.Monitor data quality and integrity, implementing necessary measures to improve data governance.Provide training and support to end-users on data access and reporting tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.6 to 12 years of professional experience in data modeling and Teradata development.Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with Teradata utilities (e.g., FastLoad, MultiLoad, BTEQ).In-depth knowledge of relational database concepts, normalization techniques, and dimensional modeling.Familiarity with ETL tools and processes; experience with tools like Informatica or Talend is a plus.Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and derive actionable insights.Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Skills

Proficient in Teradata database management and performance tuning.Experience with data warehousing concepts and architecture.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Strong communication skills for effective interaction with technical teams and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in sectors such as finance, healthcare, or telecommunications is advantageous.Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Data Management Professional) are a plus.
