GM - Drilling Completion

Job Purpose The primary function of theposition is to lead and manage the drilling and completion functionfor the assigned capital projects in offshore fields/ blocksproviding leadership to D&C team to ensure all aspects areachieved. Key roles are to manage a multidisciplinaryteam of D&C with the objective of
(i)Developing optimal project feasibility/ development plan forassigned asset to fulfil the organisational objective of monetizingdiscoveries in a timely and costefficient manner.
(ii)Assisting senior management with the justification and presentationof D&C projects to COMPANY and Joint Venture parties
(iii) Ensuring effective D&C project execution andimplementation to meet the defined business objectives includingthe responsibility for safety and quality to meet the deliverablesfor the assigned field development projects (onshore &offshore)
(iv) Ensuring that the project risks and HSEelements are managed to the highest standard consistent with theCOMPANY Management System and best international industry practicesand
(v) Optimising the net present value of the fields/blocks through integration of technical and commercial businessobjectives. Internal Network Project Team

Engineering Graduate orPostgraduate in mechanical / petroleum engineering managementdegree will have added advantage.
Minimum 15 to 20 yearsof relevant experience (international experience will be of addedadvantage) in offshore and/or onshore Oil & Gas developmentprojects. Experience of independently leading team isessential.
Proven track record in planning / managingand execution of Offshore Exploration/Development drilling &completion campaigns and managing logistic support for the same isessential.
Prior experience in Well design/planning willbe an added advantage.
Review of existing well designsrecommend design optimization well/completion design to includecasing design cement design trajectory planning and fluidprogrammes for producers. Business Understanding
Sound understanding of business processes and the impact of Riskand Quality Management in a business.
Good understandingof the international upstream oil & gas business. Areas ofResponsibility
Responsible for technicalintegrity and assurance of well design and oversee full integrationbetween sub surface and wells teams during the planningprocess.
Possess a strong commitment to HSSE inplanning/implementation of offshore Drilling programs throughindustry leading service providers.
Competence / workingknowledge with Landmark well engineering software packages (DIMSWellplan etc) will be an added advantage.
Preferablypossess IWCF Well Control certification or equivalent.
Experienced in preparation of Cost estimates for Drilling andCompletion of Development wells (AFE).
Excellentinterpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levelswill be an essential prerequisite
Adept at Technicalrisk assessment management contingency planning andmitigation.
Monitor Contractor PerformanceManagement
Review of Schedule of Rates (SORs) anddrilling/completion programmes and recommendations for improvementand optimization
Coordination of inhouse technicalsupport and external drilling technical support
Participate in the complete contracting process including preparingscopes of work and specifications for rigs equipment and wellservices leading technical elements and preparing technical andcommercial recommendations.
Participation in rig/wellsite and service base audits for conformity to Indian andinternational standards.
Will be accountable fordrilling engineering and contracting activity andplanning/execution of full field development Drilling andCompletion operations. D&C Project management & execution
To manage the implementation of variousD&C activities through effective leadership to a dedicatedmultidisciplinary team and specialist supportdepartments.
To interface and manage assigned capitalprojects including planning design engineering ProcurementConstruction Installation Commissioning Contractors &SubContractors effectively to ensure successful completion thedevelopment projects within the approved cost & time meetingCompany Quality & HSE standards & requirement.
To collaborate with relevant technical department and supportdepartment heads to ensure that overall quality of all technicalD&C work is maintained within global accepted standards andthat sufficient due diligence examination is conducted to assurethese standards.
To collaborate with relevant technicaland support department heads to ensure efficient management ofresources including direct reportees and demands onsupport/specialist groups to ensure that the project is effectivelyresourced and in particular to maximise the use of suitablyqualified staff.
To comply and ensure adherence oncompanys Quality & HSE requirements in order to ensure the bestindustry practices are followed. Ensure business partner /contractor performance meets agreed standards at the workplace andeffect behavioural change as and where required. General &financial management and reporting
To assistin preparation of work program & budgets and update varianceanalysis on continuous basis provide project reports in a specificformats/report in order to ensure availability of information toManagement for timely decision making.
To ensure fullapproval of commitment work programme and expenditures consistentwith COMPANY and JV / DGH / MoPNG requirements.
Toensure the senior management are appropriately informed of progressincluding preparation of senior management reports andpresentations. Knowledge & Skills

Strong process and technicalunderstanding skills for preparing scopes of work andspecifications for rigs equipment and well services and preparingtechnical and commercial recommendations.

Thorough understanding of national &international HSES system.
