Tig & Arc Welder

A TIG and ARC Welder with experience in fabricating Boilers and Pressure Vessels specializes in the precise, quality welding of high-pressure equipment, ensuring all assemblies meet industry and safety standards

Role & responsibilities

• Perform TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) and ARC (Shielded Metal Arc) welding processes on boiler and pressure vessel components, including stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloy materials.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to execute fabrication tasks according to codes (such as ASME BPVC).
• Set up, calibrate, and maintain welding equipment, ensuring welding parameters comply with specifications for pressure-bearing applications.
• Fabricate, assemble, and repair boilers and pressure vessels, ensuring proper layout, alignment, and fit-up of components for structural integrity under high pressure and temperature.
• Conduct visual and non-destructive examinations (NDE) of welds to detect defects such as cracks, porosity, and incomplete fusion; perform corrective action as required.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements, especially those related to working with pressure equipment, high voltage, and hazardous materials.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to meet project deadlines and ensure consistent quality.

Preferred candidate profile

• Extensive experience (typically 5+ years) in TIG and ARC welding for pressure vessel/boiler fabrication.
• Certification in welding procedures relevant to pressure vessels (ASME, AWS, or equivalent preferred).
• Strong proficiency in reading engineering and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of quality assurance, inspection techniques, and NDE methods applicable to pressure components.
• Solid understanding of metallurgy, welding codes, and material properties for high-pressure applications.
• Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and maintain safe work practices.
