Key responsibilities:
Engage & work with the Lending business & related functions to understand & assess exposure to credit risk through changes in business & product strategy
Work on identification of emerging credit risk, to drive key initiatives to help achieve objectives of credit risk mitigation and identify policy implementation gaps
The approach to this role will involve:
a. Reviewing credit underwriting & transactional data at the borrower level, to gather credit insights,
b. Checking if specific cases should have been approved or rejected, identify policy implementation gaps, define relevant negative signals, etc.
c. Using data sources (including alternate data sources) like bank statements, financial SMSes, credit history, demographic profile, etc.
d. Objective assessments to verify outcomes driven by credit underwriting strategies & data science (AI/ML) models
Collaborate with several stakeholder functions, such as Analytics, Tech, Product, Collections to achieve these outcomes
Own the recommendations made from this process, & action to take them to appropriate conclusions
What we are looking for:
Excellent analytical skills and eye to detail, to be able to look at problems using first principles
Experience or exposure to credit/credit risk management or related areas across BFSI & Digital lending would be preferred, but not mandatory
Educational background in economics, CA, financial strategy, credit would be relevant
Collaborative as well as assertive in interactions with stakeholders
Understanding of financial services, in a digital ecosystem specifically, would be ideal
Ability to work independently and drive projects as well as with team (Individual contributor)
