Job Overview Spandana Hospital is seeking a dedicated Junior Sterilization Technician for our Bangalore location. This full-time position requires 1 to 3 years of experience in sterilization practices. The role involves ensuring the maintenance and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols. Qualifications and Skills Experience with autoclave operation and the ability to effectively sterilize instruments to ensure patient safety. A firm grasp of instrument sterilization techniques to maintain hygiene and prevent infections. Knowledge in infection control procedures to minimize the spread of hospital-acquired infections. Ability to perform quality assurance checks to uphold standards of sterilization and equipment efficiency. Competency in documentation practices to accurately record sterilization processes and inventory details. Proficiency in inventory management to ensure adequate supplies while minimizing waste. Understanding of ethylene oxide sterilization for equipment sensitive to heat and moisture. Skills in equipment maintenance to ensure longevity and optimal performance of sterilization devices. Roles and Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and hospital equipment. Implement infection control practices and compliance with hospital sterilization protocols. Monitor and operate sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ethylene oxide chambers. Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, test results, and equipment maintenance logs. Manage supply inventory, check expiration dates, and place orders for sterilization-related items. Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to ensure timely availability of sterile equipment. Ensure all sterilization equipment is in proper working condition through regular checks and routine maintenance. Provide feedback and suggestions to enhance sterilization procedures and improve safety standards.
