We are seeking a highly experienced Ellucian Banner Business Analyst with 7+ years of expertise, specialising in the Banner Student module. This role will serve as the functional subject matter expert (SME) for managing and optimising the full student lifecycle within Bannercovering Admissions, Registration, Academic Records, Curriculum Management, and Student Accounts. The candidate will collaborate with institutional stakeholders to streamline processes, enhance system functionality, and support strategic initiatives that improve the overall student experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary functional expert for the Ellucian Banner.
  • Lead requirements gathering and business process analysis across admissions, registration, academic records, and student accounts.
  • Translate institutional policies and academic requirements into system configurations and functional specifications.
  • Partner with IT teams to ensure accurate integrations, upgrades, and patches specific to the student module.
  • Support end-to-end testing, validation, and issue resolution for student lifecycle functions.
  • Deliver end-user support, training, and documentation for faculty, registrar's office, admissions, and student services staff.
  • Recommend process improvements, automation, and best practices for Banner Student workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with student data privacy regulations (FERPA, GDPR, etc.).

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Business Analyst experience with strong exposure to higher education ERP systems.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with the Ellucian Banner Student module.
  • In-depth knowledge of student lifecycle processes: admissions, enrollment, registration, academic records, and student accounts.
  • Proven expertise in functional documentation, test case creation, and UAT execution.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Argos, Cognos, or SQL for student data analysis.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with stakeholders across Registrar, Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Services.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
