Senior Developer to join our Service & Platform squad. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in microservices development, event streaming, and cloud-native architecture. This role will focus on building scalable, observable, and high-performing systems within American Airlines' AWS and Azure cloud environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices integrated with REST/gRPC APIs and NoSQL databases.
  • Build real-time data pipelines using Amazon MSK , Kinesis , Apache Flink , and Lambda .
  • Apply event-driven architecture and work with data formats such as Avro and Protobuf.
  • Use tools like AWS CloudWatch , X-Ray , and Dynatrace for observability and diagnostics.
  • Write infrastructure-as-code with Terraform to manage deployment environments.
  • Automate CI/CD pipelines and integrate testing frameworks for continuous validation.
  • Participate in platform engineering efforts to support internal developer enablement ("golden paths").
  • Write automation scripts in Bash , Python , or Go to support deployment and integration efforts.
