Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled Node.js Developer to join our development team. You should have at least 3 years of experience as a Backend Developer with a strong focus on Node.js, preferably in the AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, and Facility Operations) industry. As a Node.js Developer, you will be responsible for managing the backend development of our applications, handling server-side logic, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness. You will collaborate with frontend developers, design teams, and other stakeholders to deliver robust and efficient solutions. Ability to deliver user-centric solutions in an Agile and hands-on manner is key.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain backend components using Node.js, Express.js, and related frameworks.
Design and implement RESTful APIs to support frontend functionality and integrate with databases.
Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and backend frameworks like Express.js.
Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture in Node.js.
Experience in integrations with database technologies such as MongoDB, MySQL.
Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms.
Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
Implement security and data protection measures in Node.js applications.
Conduct code reviews, identify and fix performance bottlenecks, and troubleshoot issues.
Collaborate with QA testers to conduct thorough testing and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, with high quality, and meet customer expectations.
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and incorporate them into project development as appropriate.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues to ensure seamless application performance.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Continuously improve the quality assurance process by identifying and implementing new tools and techniques.
Must-Have Technical Skills
Programming Languages: JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript
Backend: Node.js, Express.js, RESTful APIs
Frontend: Understanding of integrating with React.js
Database: Integrations with MongoDB, MySQL
Testing/Debugging: Postman
Version Control: Git, SVN
Other Tools: Collaborative and Gated Workflows, Azure deployments, Understanding of & experience with MERN stack.
Job Requirements
As a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in computer related field such as Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent
