Position: Principal Network Development Engineer - IC4

Network Design, Implementation, RCA (Root cause analysis), Network automation using Python/Ansible etc., Networking Protocol, BGP, OSPF, Network Operations, Network Infrastructure

Description:

Supports the design, deployment, and operations of a large-scale global Oracle cloud computing environment (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - OCI). Primarily focused on development and support of network fabric and systems through a combination of a deep level understanding of networking at the protocol level coupled with programming skills to support the intensive automation required to operate a production environment.

  • The role focuses on improving the availability, latency, performance, efficiency, and capacity planning of entire services and ecosystems, with ownership of critical projects and services.
  • The role involves driving operational maturity across the director's organization and managing technology migrations for major components
  • Additionally, responsibilities include organizing incident management procedures, owning and driving projects, and collaborating on cross-team efforts when appropriate
  • As a technical lead on moderately complex projects, the individual will handle project requirements, specifications, and documentation. They will serve as a Tier 2 or specialized escalation point for network events, develop automation scripts for complex tasks, and may take the lead on network automation projects

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in CS or related engineering field with 6+ years of Network Engineering experience or master's with 5+ years of Network Engineering experience
  • Experience working in a large ISP or cloud provider environment
  • Experience in network solution and architecture design process and contribute to the roadmap's development.
  • Extensive experience with scripting or automation and data center design – Python preferred but must demonstrate expertise in scripting or compiled language.
  • Experience working in a network operations role
