As a Senior or Associate Electrical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in multi-disciplinary engineering projects, leveraging your expertise in substation design and high-voltage systems. This is an opportunity to enhance your capabilities and contribute to the continued growth and reputation of our team. What You’ll Do: Lead HV (primary) design of transmission & distribution substations, HV infrastructure and/or Data Centre projects including layouts, ratings, sizing, and technical oversight. Develop specifications at both project and equipment levels. Apply working knowledge of power system protection, SCADA systems, transmission lines, underground cables, and earthing design. Support high-voltage scope for Owner’s Engineer and Technical Due Diligence projects. Review and verify designs and reports prepared by other team members. Coach and mentor junior engineers in technical delivery and project execution. Champion Safety-in-Design (SID) and ensure compliance with legislative requirements. Coordinate with civil, structural, geotechnical, secondary, drafting, and control systems disciplines. Undertake short-term site visits as required. Prepare proposals and contribute to business development initiatives. About You: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 10–15 years’ post-graduate experience in HV/EHV electrical engineering. RPEQ/RPEV registration or eligibility to attain. Proven experience in consultancy environments. Strong background in substation, HV infrastructure, cable systems, transmission & distribution utilities, renewable energy projects and/or data centres. Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear, robust advice to clients. Proficient in proposal and report writing. Why WSP?
