Job Description

We are in search of a highly proficient Lead Software Engineer to bolster our vibrant team at H&M Business Tech. As the Lead Software Engineer, you will spearhead the development and upkeep of our web applications, ensuring the delivery of top-tier code quality and offering technical guidance to our software engineering cohort. Collaboration with cross-functional teams will be pivotal, as you partake in crafting, refining, and deploying scalable solutions while upholding the pinnacle of software development standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the charge in developing and maintaining web applications utilizing React, TypeScript, .NET and Architect and deploy automated end-to-end tests to fortify the reliability and scalability of our solutions. Execute, monitor, and fine-tune solutions with a DevOps approach, leveraging infrastructure-as-code tools like Pulumi and Docker. Seamlessly integrate frontend components with backend services to craft cohesive user experiences. Engineer API endpoints and ensure seamless communication between frontend and backend systems. Uphold unit testing standards by implementing tests using Jest to validate component functionality. Configure and oversee SQL databases and other relational data storage systems. Harness Azure services such as Azure Functions, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Front Door, and Azure SQL Database to address compute, storage, networking, and database necessities. Conduct performance monitoring using Application Insights and other monitoring tools. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to decipher business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Provide technical mentorship and leadership to junior members within the software engineering ensemble. Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices, implementing code checks utilizing tools such as Whitesource, Coverity, and SonarQube. Manage version control using GIT, encompassing branching and rebasing workflows.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Demonstrated expertise in web application development utilizing React, TypeScript, and Experience in software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices. Hands-on experience with .NET based systems and automated testing frameworks like Jest. Proficiency in SQL and relational database management systems. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Pulumi, Terraform and Docker etc. Acquaintance with Azure cloud services for compute, storage, networking, and monitoring. Exemplary problem-solving capabilities and keen attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Aptitude for effective collaboration in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a leadership or mentorship role is advantageous.

Good to Have:

Proficiency in facilitating ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint demos, and retrospectives. Ability to aid in work prioritization by comprehending project requirements, stakeholder needs, and business objectives. Eagerness to engage in investigations and prototyping to explore novel technologies, tools, and solutions. MVP mindset, balancing sophistication, and efficiency in meeting user needs. Familiarity with Figma for UX and UI design. Understanding of UX and UI design principles. Capability to engage with users regularly, gathering feedback, and conducting user testing sessions. Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira and Confluence. Knowledge of ServiceNow incident handling processes.

Additional Information

This is a  fulltime permanent position , starting as soon as possible according to agreement. The role is an on-site position, based in our office in Bangalore, India.
