Role Overview

IF MedTech seeks an Assistant Manager to lead its batch manufacturing unit, driving production efficiency, team building, and cleanroom compliance. This role involves close collaboration with the design team to implement manufacturing requirements effectively. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles, conventional manufacturing techniques, molding processes, and sheet metal processes, enabling efficient, cost-effective production while meeting product specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and optimize day-to-day manufacturing processes, focusing on quality, efficiency, and adherence to industry standards.- Ensure proper setup, operation, and maintenance of cleanrooms, enforcing contamination control per GMP and regulatory standards.- Build relationships with vendors to facilitate sourcing and ensure material availability.- Identify and implement enhancements in workflows to boost productivity and reduce costs across various manufacturing processes.- Manage resources, build team, manage timelines, and budgets for batch production projects, ensuring alignment with design requirements and meeting deadlines.- Coordinate with QA teams to uphold product quality, cleanroom compliance, and alignment with DFM principles.- Maintain accurate records of production activities, compliance logs, and operational metrics, providing regular reports to management.- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure a steady supply of materials, utilizing vendor connections effectively.- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles, ensuring product designs are optimized for manufacturability.- Work closely with the design team to incorporate design specifications into manufacturing, ensuring products are built as intended.

Skills and Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.- 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, ideally in the medical device or similar industry, with experience in DFM, tooling and various manufacturing processes.- Expertise in DFM principles, molding processes, fabrication; knowledge of multiple manufacturing technologies is a plus.- Skilled in establishing a network with vendors for efficient supply chain management.- Familiarity with production management, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Quality Management Systems, and design-to-manufacturing workflows (ISO 13485 is a plus).- Proficiency in managing resources, timelines, and budgets, with the ability to incorporate design team requirements.- Strong leadership skills to build and lead a team, with effective communication skills for collaboration with the design and production teams.- Ability to analyse production challenges, interpret design requirements, and implement efficient solutions.- Commitment to high standards in manufacturing practices, ensuring DFM principles are followed for cost-effective, manufacturable designs.

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of regulatory and cleanroom requirements for medical device manufacturing.- Familiarity with certifications, cleanroom maintenance, and compliance monitoring.
