The Role


JoVE is seeking a Science Outreach Specialist to join the Global Marketing team. This position is great for a science enthusiast who loves networking and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will identify and build long-standing relationships with JoVE champions and become a JoVE evangelist among scientists and educators. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Science Outreach Specialist will initiate collaborations and identify opportunities to expand JoVE’s reach.


Responsibilities


  • Become a JoVE evangelist among scientists and educators, supporting the marketing team by raising awareness of our products and services
  • Identify and develop JoVE champions at academic and research institutions
  • Plan, organize, and conduct webinars in collaboration with researchers and educators to help raise awareness of JoVE resources in the community
  • Measure and assess webinar effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement
  • Prepare reports to share with stakeholders
  • Review webinar announcement email marketing campaigns aimed at researchers and educators for scientific accuracy, style, and tone
  • Provide support on social media campaigns and advertising


Requirements


  • A Ph.D. in biology, chemistry, or related science discipline
  • 5+ years of work experience in marketing or customer success in Publishing, EdTech, or Science industries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Self-starter, result-oriented and able to operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
