Job DescriptionJoin Our Team as an Electrical Engineer in North Houston, TX

Are you a skilled Electrical Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity in the manufacturing industry? Join our team in North Houston, TX, where you will design and innovate electric motor controls for overhead cranes and hoists. Collaborate with a dynamic team to drive product development and solve complex engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

Design:

Create electric motor controls for overhead cranes and hoists, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.

Application:

Apply specifications for Magnetic Motor Starters, Relays, and AC inverters.

Support:

Assist in all phases of product development engineering activities.

Calculations:

Calculate wire sizes and overload protection for cranes operating at voltages up to 800V DC and 4160V AC.

Problem Resolution:

Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve manufacturing issues.

Drawings:

Prepare single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and interconnect drawings.

Component Specification:

Size and specify purchase components and BOMs based on standards and vendor information.

Design Improvement:

Provide input for design improvements to enhance functions or reduce costs.

Circuit Modification:

Modify and improve existing circuit designs as necessary.

Collaboration:

Work with mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams on control system design.

Documentation:

Develop connection/cable diagrams and general arrangement drawings.

Field Support:

Travel to sites for meetings or troubleshooting control systems as required (up to 10% domestic travel).

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Highly Preferred).

Experience:

3-7 years as an Electrical Engineer, with a focus on Electrical Design and Motor Controls.

Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical 2016.

Experience with PLC Programming.

Familiarity with NEC Electrical Code.

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Preferred Technical Skills:

Experience with Zuken E3.

PLC & HMI programming with Rockwell, Siemens, or Danfoss PLC/VFD.
