Role Brief:-This person shall be responsible for leading the lawyers in relation to one of the core verticals of Swiggy. Will be tasked with providing strategic advisory to endeavours of business, structuring and managing contracts and its lifecycle, statutory compliances, review risk mitigation strategies and support all business initiatives, research and strategy, advise on various applicable laws specifically, the food safety laws, data privacy, IT Act, laws relating to e-commerce, state EV laws, fintech, monitoring and commenting on various upcoming legislations and regulations.

The Director -Legal shall be responsible for setting up a legal framework to ensure regulatory and legal compliance, support procurement, operations, product compliance, licensing, training, etc. for the relevant vertical. The Director- Legal will ensure regulatory requirements and risks are broadly understood by his/her stakeholders and risks adequately rated and mitigated; structuring, drafting and negotiating strategic agreements/alliances. This role shall report into the General Counsel and closely work with Swiggy marketplace business.

Throughout all the above tasks the Director-Legal will closely coordinate with the stakeholders and external counsels.The Director -Legal shall also be responsible for:• Team Management and Stakeholder Management;• Structuring and evaluating business initiatives & drafting policies and SOPs;• Setting Up Governance Structure;• Advising and supporting end-to-end on-going businesses undertaken by the verticals;• Proactively advise and assist in managing important change in laws and regulation, identifying risks and preparing mitigation strategy;• Lead the team in developing processes, policies and procedures designed to reduce legal risk and/or increase efficiency;• Work with support functions and business team to ensure that policies of the company are being implemented, work with business teams to ensure compliance and smooth implementation of policies and processes;• Work on new projects;

Desired Skills :LL.B., from a recognized university in India or relevant qualification , 10-12 years of expCompetence in broad range of corporate and business laws, especially in both Indian domestic and international commercial transaction and intellectual property;Extensive experience and strong skills in drafting and negotiating contracts; Extensive experience in analyzing and responding to regulatory and compliance matters;Expertise in analysing and assessing business risks, processes, issues and propose/implement solutions; Ability to function autonomously yet communicate laterally and upwardly with ease and transparency;
