About Us : Project Baala is a youth led social enterprise focused on destigmatizing menstruation and is looking for passionate and enterprising youngsters ready to make real time impact.

Position Overview:The Communications Specialist will play a key role in enhancing our online presence and strengthening our digital communication channels. This role requires someone with a keen eye for design, technical know-how for website updates, and a strategic mindset for social media growth.

Key Responsibilities :

Social Media Strategy & ManagementDevelop and execute a cohesive social media strategy across platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).Create and schedule content, monitor performance, and adjust strategy as needed to drive engagement, awareness, and growth.Analyse metrics and produce regular reports to assess performance and adjust strategies for continuous improvement.Respond to social media inquiries and foster online engagement with followers.

Design & Visual ContentCreate high-quality visual content for both digital and print platforms, including videos, graphics, infographics, presentations, and promotional materialsEnsure that all visual content adheres to brand guidelines and enhances the overall user experience.Work on design projects for campaigns, newsletters, social media posts, and event collaterals and annual reports.

General Communications SupportAssist with internal and external communications materials such as newsletters, press releases, and event promotions.Collaborate with other departments (e.g., implementation, research, product) to ensure cohesive messaging and brand voice.

Website Content & Maintenance (Preferred but not required)Oversee and manage the organization’s website, ensuring it is up-to-date, user-friendly, and aligns with the overall communications strategyCollaborate with internal teams to ensure the website reflects new content, product launches, events, etc. Coordinate with external vendors or developers for larger website projects or updates.Ensure optimal website performance, including speed, responsiveness, and SEO best practices.

Qualifications:● 2-3 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, social media management, web development, or a related field.● Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.● Proficiency in web content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace, or similar)● Experience with web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, social media analytics tools)● Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar design software.● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.● Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.● A creative mindset with a passion for design and storytelling.

Preferred:● Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact)● Familiarity with SEO best practices and website optimization● Knowledge of video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro)
