Deputy Medical Superintendent

Preferred candidate profile

Must be MBBS

Currently managing the role of DMS with at least 03 Years of Experience.

Job Responsibilities

  1. To lead, direct, coordinate & supervise the delivery of clinical services in all the above mentioned areas.

  2. Develop/ Improve department specific policies, protocols & processes in consultation with GM Operations/ Medical Superintendent and Department Heads for efficient working of the departments.

  3. Communicate to all clinicians the departmental policies, protocols & processes and ensure adherence to the same, so as to improve quality care & ethical practices in the hospital.

  4. Ensure implementation & adherence of above mentioned policies, protocols & processes by all in the hospital.

  5. Ensure availability of resources (equipments, drugs, medicines, implants, infrastructure & manpower etc) in coordination with respective department HOD's.

  6. Ensure optimum utilization of resources and suggest/recommend new ways for increasing efficiency & effectiveness of resources.

  7. Ensure regular communication between the treating doctor and patient/ patient's attendant regarding patient's condition & plan of treatment.

  8. Responsible for Medical Liasioning (PNDT, Doctors & Nurses Registration, Medico legal cases etc).

  9. Ensure correct billing information to billing department from OT, ICU and Day care

  10. Coordinate with Biomedical department to ensure that all equipments in OT, ICU, Day Care & CSSD are fully functional at all the times.

  11. Ensure Zero % infection in OTs, ICUs and Day Care in coordination with nursing and technicians.

  12. Coordinate with nursing department for smooth transfer of patients to floor and inform front office manager.

  13. Ensure completion of file before patient is transferred to wards.

  14. Ensure timely delivery of sterile equipments & other material from CSSD to various clinical departments.

  15. Maintain and Improve management of corporate clinic by ensuring availability of nurses & consultants as per the schedule and any administrative requirements.

  16. Responsible for the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of care and services provided in the area of responsibility.

  17. Maximize customer satisfaction (internal as well as external) by developing cordial work environment with other departments to ensure smooth delivery of services.

  18. Assist GM – Operations/ Medical Superintendent in developing operating & capital budget of the departments and ensure adherence to the budget.

  19. Provide daily & monthly reports as per the given format to GM–Operations/Medical Superintendent.

  20. Work in close coordination with HR Department for:

a. Training & Development of employees

b. Control /Reduction in attrition

c. Reduction in over time

  • Adherence to policies & clinical protocols

  • ICU bed utilization
  • Equipment availability/up time in OT and ICU
  • CSSD equipments availability
  • Minimise Inventory Stock Variation in OT/ICU/Day care in following areas consumables, drugs, implants and linen.
  • Infection Rate
  • No. of patients from Corporate clinics
  • Availability of Doctors at corporate clinic
  • Complaints from corporate clinic
  • Patient Complaints
  • Doctors Complaint
  • Adherence to operational budget
  • Timely submission of reports
  • Training sessions of personnel on departmental protocols, biomedical waste management, Infection Control.
  • Reduction in Overtime
