Slitting Incharge

Role & responsibilities

To oversee and manage the slitting operations, ensuring efficient production, quality output, timely delivery, machine maintenance, and compliance with safety standards. Responsible for supervising the slitting team, optimizing resources, and meeting production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production & Operations
   Plan, schedule, and execute slitting operations as per production requirements.
   Ensure machine setup, changeovers, and running conditions are carried out smoothly.
   Monitor material usage, minimize wastage, and ensure optimum yield.
   Maintain production logs and ensure adherence to daily/weekly targets.
2. Team Management
   Supervise machine operators and helpers during slitting operations.
   Train and guide team members on process, safety, and quality standards.
   Allocate work to team members and monitor performance.
3. Quality Assurance
   Ensure slitted material meets dimensional accuracy, finish, and quality specifications.
   Coordinate with the quality team for inspection and corrective actions.
   Implement and monitor quality checks during production.
4. Machine & Maintenance
   Oversee preventive and routine maintenance of slitting machines.
   Troubleshoot breakdowns and coordinate with maintenance team for timely repairs.
   Ensure machines are in good working condition and downtime is minimized.
5. Safety & Compliance
   Enforce safety guidelines and proper handling of slitting equipment.
   Ensure adherence to company policies and statutory compliance.
   Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
6. Reporting & Coordination
   Report production status, downtime, and issues to management.
   Coordinate with planning, stores, and dispatch departments for smooth operations.
   Assist in continuous process improvement initiatives.

Preferred candidate profile

Strong knowledge of slitting machines and operations.
Leadership and team-handling skills.
Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
Knowledge of quality standards and safety practices.
Basic computer skills (MS Excel, SAP preferred).
