Job Title: Pendo In-App Guide Developer · Location: Bengaluru · Experience: 6+ · Job Type : Contract to hire. · Notice Period: Immediate joiners. · Project Tenure: Long-term project Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Pendo In-App Guide Developer to design, build, and optimize in-app guidance experiences that drive product adoption, onboarding, and user engagement. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Pendo.io , front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and a strong understanding of user journeys, analytics, and digital adoption workflows . The role involves close collaboration with Product Management, UX, and Analytics teams to implement contextual, data-driven in-app messaging and interactive walkthroughs that enhance user experience and accelerate feature adoption. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and manage in-app guides, walkthroughs, tooltips, announcements, and surveys using Pendo.io . Develop and implement custom JavaScript/CSS snippets for advanced Pendo guide behaviors and UI customization. Partner with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to translate business requirements into in-app experiences. Configure segmentation, targeting, and triggers based on user behavior, metadata, or product usage events. Maintain and evolve a Pendo guide library aligned with onboarding, feature adoption, and retention goals. Ensure non-intrusive, responsive, and accessible guide experiences across devices and browsers. Collaborate with data and analytics teams to measure guide effectiveness — CTRs, completion rates, adoption metrics. Use A/B testing and analytics to optimize messaging and guide flow performance. Support Pendo installation and integration , including tag management and JS snippet implementation. Troubleshoot and resolve guide rendering, tagging, and targeting issues. Document workflows, templates, and technical configurations for reusability and governance. Required Skills & Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience with Pendo.io (required). Proven experience in in-app guide creation , user onboarding design , or digital adoption platform (DAP) work. Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript for front-end customization. Strong understanding of user behavior analytics and segmentation logic . Experience with Pendo tags, pages, and feature tracking configuration. Familiarity with web analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, GA4, Mixpanel, Amplitude) preferred. Strong communication and documentation skills. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams — Product, Engineering, UX, and Marketing. Good-to-Have / Preferred Skills: Experience with Pendo Resource Center and custom code blocks . Knowledge of API integrations and webhook configurations in Pendo. Exposure to other Digital Adoption Platforms (WalkMe, Appcues, Whatfix, Userlane). Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments. Experience in product analytics dashboards and behavioral journey mapping . Key Outcomes / KPIs: Reduction in onboarding time for new users. Increase in feature adoption and engagement metrics. Improved NPS or user satisfaction through contextual assistance. Reduced support tickets for “how-to” issues. Consistent measurement of guide performance and optimization.
