Role:

We are seeking a seasoned and passionate Director of Engineering to lead our talented team in developing and delivering best in class cyber security products (in the domain of network, endpoint and cloud security). As the Director of Engineering, You will play a critical role in shaping the technical vision, ensuring the platform addresses the unique needs of SMBs, and driving innovation in the cybersecurity space.


Responsibilities:

  • Define the platform roadmap, prioritising features that mitigate key security risks faced by SMBs and align with business objectives.
  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of a secure, scalable, and user-friendly platform that caters to the technical skillsets of SMB users.
  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC) for the platform, ensuring adherence to best practices, security standards, and quality control measures.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team, encouraging exploration of new technologies to enhance platform capabilities.
  • Build and manage a high-performing engineering team with expertise in areas like secure development, cloud security, threat detection, and user interface/user experience (UI/UX) design for non-technical users.
  • Attract, recruit, and retain top engineering talent with a strong understanding of SMB cybersecurity needs.
  • Manage the engineering budget effectively and allocate resources efficiently to optimize platform development.
  • Collaborate closely with product management, sales, and marketing teams to ensure a seamless product development and go-to-market strategy.
  • Stay current with evolving cybersecurity threats, industry trends, and security best practices for SMBs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key technology vendors and partners.
  • Track and analyze engineering performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and platform optimization.
  • Clearly communicate technical concepts and progress updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience of solving complex problems, leading and managing engineering teams within the cybersecurity industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering secure and user-friendly technology solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies relevant to SMBs.
  • Experience with cloud-based security solutions and secure development practices (DevSecOps).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to mentor and coach team members to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Passion for building user-centric solutions that empower SMBs to secure their businesses.
