Areas of ResponsibilitiesLeads design and development of hydraulic hoses for New Product Development projects in Fluid Conveyance product group to meet customer specific technical, cost, market and technology requirements. Consistently identifies opportunities for product cost reduction to improve margins and keep Danfoss competitive through adoption of new technology and improved manufacturing processes. Provides leadership in meeting product quality, cost and project schedule. Lead innovation and continuous improvement while executing the projects pertaining to new product introduction and Cost out.Key tasksContributes by independently leading key/large product development projects or multiple small product development projects for Hydraulic hoses based on Global market requirements.Builds prototypes, defines product validation plans and test solutions to meet / exceed customer requirements and support product introductionDesign new hydraulic hose or enhance performance of existing hose, involving hose architecture design & rubber compoundingResponsible to drive product development effectiveness through analysis first and DfX deployment ensuring flawless execution and zero analytical escapementBuilds & enhances prediction models for the product performance parameters.Have strong understanding of hydraulic hose performance & application requirements and lead new technology, idea generation, mature & work across ENG, SCM and MFG functions to realize the opportunitiesProficient application of core Engineering tools/principles, industry best practices, DFSS tools and recognition for technical expertise (Core Ex.: Design Rules, DFMEA, Writing Test Reports, Testing, Eng. Drawings and Std's, applies Robust Design, etc.)Drives project execution through Agile PDP process and have thorough understanding of all associated SCM and MFG processes such as for APQP, PPAPLead and participate in global cross functional events for NPD, New technology Introduction & Cost out – Comes up with innovative product concepts/ideas, and protect IP through Disclosures/Patents/Trade secrets, develop PoC with independentlyProficiently applies the core project management tools/principles, industry best practices and recognition for project management expertise. Successfully leads multi-functional project teams.Maintains effective communications both verbal and written with customers, suppliers and cross functional teamsProvides technical support to all internal departments, suppliers, and customers as it relates to the product. Support hose manufacturing plants to troubleshoot hose manufacturing and quality issues and provide technical leadership for continuous improvement projects in plantsIt will be an advantage, if you have:5+ years of experience hydraulic hose design, rubber compounding, hose testing and hose manufacturingSuccess Criteria’sLead new product development/ New technology introduction / Cost out projects independentlyContribute in terms of coming up with IP (invention disclosure / Patents/Trade secrets), technical papers, identifying cost out ideas, new product opportunitiesOTD: Milestone completed on timeTechnical performance: First time right design deliveredCost out: # of CO project initiated, $K contributed to funnel & realizationDFX methodology deploymentRelease of design guides, BOK / Technical paperImportant aspects, with impact on the jobApp. 5-10 days of travel per year2. Minimum requirements to educational backgroundRequired: Bachelor’s Degree in Polymer Engineering / Rubber TechnologyDesired: Master’s Degree in Polymer Engineering / Rubber TechnologyMinimum requirements to working experienceMin 7-10 years’ experience for Bachelor’s degree or Min 5-8 Years of experience for Master’s degree, in Hydraulic Hose design & Rubber compoundingProven knowledge of DFSS tools like FMEA. DVPR, PDSC etc.Hose architecture design & Tube/Cover compoundingKnowledge of engineering standards like EN/SAE/ISO etc. & hose performance/life testingHands on experience in hose manufacturing & troubleshootingGeometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T), Stack Up analysis, etc.Familiar with PLM/SAP and Engineering change management process and execution of changes thru PLM/SAP
