Job Description:

Title: SmartComm Engineer

Experience: 5+ yrs

Location: Bengaluru/Hyderabad

Hire Mode: Contract

Key Responsibilities:

● Design, develop, implement, and maintain customer communication templates and

workflows using the SmartComm platform (formerly Smart Communications /

Thunderhead ONE).

● Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and stakeholders to gather and

translate business requirements into technical specifications for communication

solutions.

● Develop complex data models, logic, and dynamic content within SmartComm to support

personalized and conditional messaging.

● Integrate SmartComm with various enterprise systems (e.g., CRM, ERP, data

warehouses) using APIs, web services, and other integration methods.

● Conduct thorough testing of communication solutions to ensure accuracy, quality, and

adherence to business rules and regulatory requirements.

● Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SmartComm templates, data integrations,

and output generation.

● Optimize SmartComm performance for high-volume communication delivery.

● Maintain documentation of SmartComm solutions, configurations, and best practices.

● Stay up-to-date with the latest SmartComm features, industry trends, and

communication technologies.

● Provide technical support and guidance to business users and other development teams

as needed.

● Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of

development processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or

equivalent practical experience.

● 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and implementing solutions on the

SmartComm platform (Smart Communications / Thunderhead ONE).

● Proficiency in designing and developing SmartComm templates, data models, and

dynamic content.

● Strong understanding of XML, XSLT, JSON, and other data manipulation techniques.

● Experience with various integration methods, including RESTful APIs, SOAP web

services, SFTP, etc.

● Solid programming skills in at least one relevant language (e.g., Java, C#, JavaScript,

Python) are a plus, particularly for integration development.

● Familiarity with database concepts and SQL for data extraction and manipulation.

● Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

● Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.

● Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.

● Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Qualifications:

● Experience with other customer communication management (CCM) platforms.

● Knowledge of document accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, PDF/UA).

● Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

● Understanding of agile development methodologies.

● Experience in the (mention relevant industry, e.g., financial services, insurance,

healthcare) sector.
