About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Manager.
In this role, you will:
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team or teams of experienced engineers and engineering managers in roles with moderate complexity and risk, responsible for building high quality capabilities with modern technology.
  • Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture and meeting non-functional requirements with each release.
  • Partner with, engage and influence architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architecture and enable application migration paths to target architecture; for example, cloud readiness, application modernization, data strategy
  • Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks including code, build and deployment while also managing overall software development cycle and security standards
  • Determine appropriate strategy and actions to act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and the teams to meet moderate to high risk deliverables and help remove impediments, obstacles, and friction while encouraging constant learning, experimentation, and continual improvement
  • Build engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase, conduct peer reviews to evaluate quality and solution alignment to technical direction, and guide design, as needed
  • Interpret, develop and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with moderate complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise risk
  • Ability to Collaborate, partner and influence Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction, influence technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap, promote innovative and intelligent solutions, generate corporate value and articulate technical strategy while being a solid advocate of agile and DevOps practices
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in technology engineering
  • Hire, build and guide a culture of talent development to have the skills required to effectively design and deliver innovative solutions for product areas and products to meet business objectives and strategy, as well as conduct performance management for engineers and managers
Required Qualifications:
  • Overall 14 + years of Software Engineering experience, with 4+ years working with Azure and/or GCP and a proven track record of delivering multi hybrid cloud programs at an enterprise scale.
  • Experience in providing thought-leadership, expertise to formulate and execute on major strategies to develop/deliver robust and scalable solutions.
  • Exposure to Cloud and its service offerings, including automation, orchestration, trends and industry-leading cloud vendor offerings.
  • Experience working in Agile environment and product backlog grooming against ongoing engineering work.
  • Enterprise Change Management and change control, experience working within procedural and process driven environment.
  • Experienced in Cloud FinOps implementation at enterprise level.
    • Establish strong cost management practice and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
    • Ability to develop effective reporting schemes/metrics to maintain strong control on usage and billing of cloud services.
    • Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders (across IT, finance, business functions) and proactively identify opportunities for service improvement.
    • Good understanding of billing on cloud platforms
    • Understanding of cloud providers, platforms and configurations and familiarity with workload usage/consumption patterns on cloud.
  • Experienced in Cloud Asset management implementation at enterprise level. Understand the asset management needs with extensive knowledge of the development and implementation of asset management strategies and services.
  • Good Exposure to Cloud Adoption Framework, Well Architected Framework.
  • High level understanding and exposure to Infrastructure as Code
  • Drive innovative solutions for the cloud product areas/products and contribute towards continual service. Experience in vendor management and stakeholder influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.
  • Experience and passion to hire high performing diverse talents and ability to retain them, ensuring their career growth.
  • Curiosity to learn new technologies, an ability to self-start and the discipline to prioritize while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Should have cloud certification on Azure or GCP.
  • Preferably prior management experience in Banking
  • Ability to deliver & engage with partners effectively in a multi-cultural environment by demonstrating co-ownership & accountability in a matrix structure.
  • Delivery focus and willingness to work in a fast-paced, enterprise environment.
  • Experience with Agile, CI/CD, DevOps concepts and SRE principles.
