Role & responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive EHS plans, policies, and procedures aligned with company standards, legal requirements (including OSHA, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001), during the construction phase of a thermal power plant
• Ensure full compliance with all relevant EHS regulations and standards, including those related to air and water quality, waste management, noise control, and workplace safety
• Lead incident investigations, provide training, and monitor EHS performance
• Conduct thorough risk assessments for all construction activities, identifying potential hazards and developing mitigation strategies to minimize risks.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the construction site to identify potential hazards, unsafe practices, and non-compliance issues. Ensure corrective actions are taken promptly.
• Lead and participate in incident investigations, analyze RCA, and corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Develop and deliver EHS training programs for all levels of personnel, including employees, contractors, and subcontractors, to promote a strong safety culture and ensure awareness of safety procedures.
• Monitor EHS performance metrics, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare regular reports for management and stakeholders.
• Emergency response plans for various scenarios, including fires, chemical spills, and other potential emergencies.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on all EHS matters, providing guidance and support to project teams and other stakeholders.

Skills:

• Comprehensive understanding of relevant EHS regulations, including OSHA, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.

• Familiarity with EHS management systems, risk assessment tools, and other relevant software.

• Proven experience in managing EHS aspects during the construction phase of thermal power plants.
